どちらかにしようと思ってたんですが

TRIPOD TABLE SOLOの形を決めるときに、形を悩んでいました。

3本脚にするのは前提として進めていたのですが、それをむりなく安定させる形状としては丸形が一番。ただし、バックパックに入れられる直径で丸形を作ると、とても小さなものになってしまう…

ということで、バックパックにも入れられ、ソロキャンに十分な面積を持ったものとして、TRIPOD TABLE SOLOが生まれたのですが、大きさを十分にとる、つまりバックパックに入れるのではないとすれば、丸形もとても魅力的です。

そうだ。焚き火の横で使うテーブルはSOLOにするとして、テントの中で過ごすときや、寝るときにケータイやメガネ（僕にはとても大事！）をおいておく場所を作れば良いのだ！

ということで、丸テーブルの真ん中に穴をあけ、ポールを通せるようにし、TIPIの真ん中に設置できるようにしました。

この穴の大きさも、実はいろいろ試しまして。汎用線があるようにもっと大きな穴も試したんですが、ポール無しで単品で使うときに「穴があるな〜」と、なんか意識してしまうんですよね。4センチなら目立たない。ということで、あらゆるポールに対応できるわけでは無くなってしまったのですが、現在の穴の大きさになりました。

I'd planned to choose just one shape

When deciding the shape of TRIPOD TABLE SOLO, I went back and forth.

Three legs was the premise, and the most naturally stable shape on three legs is a circle. But if you make a circle small enough to fit in a backpack, it ends up tiny…

So TRIPOD TABLE SOLO was born as a table that fits in a backpack but still has enough area for solo camping. The other side of the coin: if size is generous — i.e. you're not taking it in a backpack — a round table is very attractive.

That's it. Let SOLO be the table beside the fire; for time inside the tent and at sleep, make a place to put your phone and glasses (very important for me!).

And so I cut a hole in the center of the round top so a pole can pass through it, letting it sit in the middle of TIPI.

The hole size took a lot of trial and error. I tried a larger hole, the kind that would fit any pole. But when you use the table on its own, without a pole, you can't help noticing "ah, there's a hole." At 4 cm, it disappears. So we lost universal pole compatibility — but landed on the current hole size.

本想只做一种形状

在决定 TRIPOD TABLE SOLO 形状之时，颇为犹豫。

三腿为前提推进，而三腿最稳定的形状莫过于圆形。但若做成可塞进背包的直径，就会非常小……

于是诞生了"可入背包、且单人露营够用"的 TRIPOD TABLE SOLO；反之，若不必塞进背包，让尺寸宽裕些，圆形就极具魅力。

那就这样：篝火旁那张是 SOLO；帐内度时或就寝时放手机、眼镜（对我极其重要！）的位置，再做一张就好！

于是在圆桌中央开孔，可让立柱穿过，便能置于 TIPI 正中。

孔径其实也试了多种。曾考虑像通用尺寸那样开大孔，但单独使用、未穿立柱时，"啊，有个孔"就会显眼。4cm 则不显。虽因此无法适配所有立柱，但得到了现在的孔径。
