正真正銘の、オリジナル

YOKA TIPIが空前のヒットを記録する中、様々な意見が届くようになりました。「もっと大きいのはないのか？」「TC素材のものは無いのか？」「他の色はないのか？」

僕としてはYOKA TIPIは初めてのテントで、気合も入りすぎるくらい入れて作ったので、「やりきった感」がすごくありまして。もともとあまりバリエーションなどを作りたくない（これぞ！という１つを売りたい）ほうなので、結局要望通りのYOKA TIPIを作りませんでした。

ただ、TIPIに課題がなかったわけではありません。ピラミッド型なので、そこまで居住性が高いとはいえませんし、大きさも2人が限界。

そんなわけで、広く、快適なテントを、TIPIとは別の形で作ろうということになりました。TIPIは世の中に既にあるスタイルを改良して作ったものだったので、今回は全く新しいものを１からデザインすることにしました。

といっても、なにもないところからスタートするのはとても難しい。そこで参考にしたのが、たまに見かけることのあった「ベイカーテント」でした。西部開拓時代のスタイルとのことで、四角くて無骨でかっこいい。でも、骨組みとかがいろいろ大変そうです。

このスタイルで、もっと立てやすい方式のものが作れないか？と思い立ち、「ツーポールテントで、四角いシルエットのもの」というざっくりしたコンセプトが決まりました。

様々な形を紙で試作したのですが、前部、後部にわけ、その比率をアシンメトリーにするのが面白そうだというところに至ります。



フルクローズできるのですが、前部は跳ね上げることも可能。そしてここに薪ストーブもインストールできます。後部は居住性を重視。天井高を確保するために、もう1本サブポールを用意し、後ろから引っ張ることで屋根ができるようにしました。

YOKA CABINにしか無い特徴的なスタイルは、「跳ね上げたいが、薪ストーブもいれたい」という、自分のわがままな欲求から出来上がりました。前部を斜めにあけることで、薪ストーブ部分を残しながら、タープ状にもすることが可能になったのです。



TC素材で作ったため、収納はすこし大きめになってしまったのですが、そのかわり、想像したとおりの居住性と、存在感を放つものになってくれました。

The story behind it

An original — through and through

As YOKA TIPI was riding an unprecedented wave of popularity, requests started coming in. "Got anything bigger?" "Got it in TC fabric?" "Got it in another color?"

For me, YOKA TIPI was my first tent — I poured everything I had into it, almost too much, and came out with this enormous sense of "done." I'm also not the type who wants to make many variations (I'd rather sell one definitive piece), so in the end I didn't go and make a YOKA TIPI to spec.

That said, TIPI wasn't without its limitations. Being pyramid-shaped, it isn't exactly spacious, and two people is its practical limit.

So we set out to design a roomier, more comfortable tent — something altogether different from TIPI in form. TIPI had refined an existing style; this time we'd design something completely new from scratch.

Starting from nothing is hard, though. The reference we landed on was the "Baker tent" you sometimes come across — a Wild West–era style, square, rugged, handsome. But its frame setup looked like a hassle.

Could we build something in this style that's easier to pitch? That question gave us our rough concept: a two-pole tent with a square silhouette.

After many paper prototypes, we arrived at the idea of splitting it front and back, with the proportions asymmetric — that felt promising.



It closes up fully, but the front section can also be folded open. A wood stove can be installed there. The rear emphasizes livability — to keep ceiling height up, we added a sub-pole and pull the rear tight to form the roof.

The defining detail unique to YOKA CABIN — "I want to fold it open AND keep the wood stove" — came from a selfish wish of mine. By opening the front diagonally, you can keep the wood stove in place while turning the rest into a tarp.



Made in TC fabric, the packed size came out a touch larger — but in exchange, it delivers the livability and presence we'd imagined.

正宗的、原创设计

YOKA TIPI 创下空前的销售业绩之时，各种意见也纷至沓来：「有更大的款式吗？」「有 TC 材质的吗？」「有别的颜色吗？」

对我来说，YOKA TIPI 是第一顶帐篷，可谓倾尽全力——甚至有些用力过度——做完后心中满是「已尽力」。本就不太愿意多做衍生款（更想推出一款"就是这个！"的代表作），结果未按要求继续扩展 YOKA TIPI。

不过 TIPI 并非毫无短板。金字塔形其实居住性算不上很高，尺寸上也以两人为极限。

于是决定：以与 TIPI 不同的形式，做一顶宽敞舒适的帐篷。TIPI 是在既有样式上加以改良，这次则要从零开始设计全新之物。

话虽如此，从无到有非常难。我们以偶尔见到的"贝克帐（Baker tent）"为参考——西部开拓时代的样式，四方而粗犷有型。但骨架等似乎颇费工夫。

能不能以这种样式做出更易搭建的款式？由此确定了大致概念：「双柱帐篷，四方剪影」。

用纸做了多种试做，最终发现：把前后分开、比例做成不对称——这一想法很有意思。



可全封闭，但前部亦可上掀；此处还能架设柴炉。后部则注重居住性——为确保层高，再加一根副立柱，从后方拉紧以形成屋顶。

YOKA CABIN 独有的特征样式，源于"既想上掀、又想架柴炉"的私心。前部斜向展开，便可一边保留柴炉部分、一边变身为天幕。



因采用 TC 材质，收纳尺寸略大；但作为回报，居住性与存在感皆如想象。
