新しいスタイルへ

YOKA TIPIの発売から数年経ったころ、面白い張り方をしている方を、ポツポツ見かけるようになりました。それは、YOKA TIPIの片側を跳ね上げ、タープ状にして使うというもの。これがかっこいいんですよ（やっていただいていた皆さん、ありがとうございます！）。自分の作ったテントにこんなポテンシャルがあったのかと感心しつつも、その張り方を特に推奨していなかったがゆえに、無理な力がかかりそうな部分も見えてきました。

そこで、この「跳ね上げ張り」を積極的にできるようにと設計し直したのが、このYOKA TIPI TYPE2です。

ポイントは、ジッパーを斜めにしたところ。TIPI1で跳ね上げしたときに、頭の部分が斜めになってしまうのがあまり良くないと思っていまして。

ジッパーの付け方を斜めにし、頭が真っすぐでいるようにできないか？紙では試作したものの、実際にできるかどうかは作ってみないとわかりません。つまり結構賭けな状態で試作を進めたのですが…結果は大成功でした。ジッパーが斜めになっていることで、若干の雨除け機能も果たします。

これはいける！ということで、今まで要望の多かった部分も一気に取り込み（ループの長さ調節、インナーの制作、別カラーの制作）、このYOKA TIPI TYPE2が出来上がったのでした。

もともとYOKA TIPIはデュオまでいける（コット２台を入れて、真ん中にテーブル、ストーブを入れられます）サイズですが、TYPE2の特徴を活かすとなると、やはりソロキャンプということになるでしょうか。タープ泊に近いワイルド感を持ちつつ、しっかりテントであるというところが魅力です。

A new style

A few years after launching YOKA TIPI, I started seeing interesting pitches here and there: people folding up one side of YOKA TIPI to use it tarp-style. And it looks fantastic (thank you to everyone who's been doing it!). I was impressed that my tent had that kind of potential — but since we hadn't actually recommended that pitch, I could also see places where unwelcome stress was being put on the fabric.

So we redesigned it to actively support this "fold-up pitch" — and that's YOKA TIPI TYPE2.

The key was angling the zipper. When you fold up TIPI 1, the head ends up tilted, and that always bothered me.

Could we angle the zipper so the head stays upright? We made paper prototypes, but you don't really know until you build the real thing. It was a bit of a gamble — and it paid off. The angled zipper even acts as a small rain guard.

This was going to work! So we rolled in everything that had been requested over the years (adjustable loop length, an inner, alternate colors), and YOKA TIPI TYPE2 was born.

Originally YOKA TIPI sleeps up to two (two cots with a table and stove between them), but if you're playing to TYPE2's strengths, it really shines in solo camping. It carries a tarp-like wildness while remaining unmistakably a tent — that's the appeal.

迈向新样式

YOKA TIPI 上市数年后，渐渐看到有人以独特方式搭设——将 YOKA TIPI 的一侧上掀，呈天幕状使用。这种搭法实在帅气（向所有这样使用的朋友致谢！）。在感叹自家帐篷竟有此潜力的同时，也注意到由于此搭法并非官方推荐，部分位置似乎承受了不必要的应力。

为此，我们将这种"上掀搭法"作为正式支持加以重新设计——便是 YOKA TIPI TYPE2。

关键在于将拉链改为倾斜。在 TIPI1 上掀时，头部会变得倾斜，我一直觉得这不够好。

能否将拉链以倾斜方式安装，让头部保持笔直？纸上试做容易，但实际能否成立，需做出实物方可知。因此可以说试制阶段相当冒险——结果大获成功。倾斜的拉链还兼具一定的挡雨功能。

这条路走得通！于是一并整合了多年积累的需求（环带长度可调、内帐制作、其他颜色），由此诞生了 YOKA TIPI TYPE2。

YOKA TIPI 本可双人使用（可放两张折叠床，中间置桌与炉），但若要发挥 TYPE2 的特长，仍以单人露营为佳。具备近似天幕的野趣，同时又是一顶完整的帐篷——这便是它的魅力所在。
